Note Effective February 1, 2023, Banque du Liban (BDL) announced a change of Lebanon's official exchange rate from 1,507.5 LBP / USD to 15,000 LBP / USD. This change impacted the value of the assets and liabilities in LBP which is reflected in the Valuation Adjustments account. Articles 75 and 115 of Code of Money and Credit. In addition to the valuation adjustment on Gold and Foreign Currency; this item includes a special account, called “Exchange Stabilization Fund” in accordance with Article 75 of Code of Money and Credit as per Central Council decision number 1/14/23. The increase in the Exchange Stabilization Fund reflects the decrease in Other Assets. Based on the BdL Central Council Decision No. 48/4/24, dated 02/15/2024, the official exchange rate of 89,500 LBP per dollar has been adopted in the BdL Balance sheet starting January 31st 2024. |
